Hey Angelo,
I've got a wpn111 as well, but I think it's V1 as I can't see a v2 anywhere. So It should basically be a Atheros AR2414 meaning it should work with 1.7.9 but doesn't atm.
Log from log/messages
First time I connected it (front usb):
Jan 6 08:48:33 vusolo user.info kernel: usb 4-1: new full speed USB device number 2 using ohci-brcm
Jan 6 08:48:33 vusolo user.info kernel: usb 4-1: not running at top speed; connect to a high speed hub
Second time (front usb with extension cable):
Jan 6 08:49:40 vusolo user.info kernel: usb 4-1: USB disconnect, device number 2
Jan 6 08:49:53 vusolo user.info kernel: usb 2-1: new high speed USB device number 4 using ehci-brcm
Third time (back usb with ext. cable):
Jan 6 08:50:14 vusolo user.info kernel: usb 2-1: USB disconnect, device number 4
Jan 6 08:50:53 vusolo user.info kernel: usb 1-1: new high speed USB device number 2 using ehci-brcm
Does this mean it's trying to use the broadcom drivers instead of atheros?
Using Vu+ Solo.

Just saw the topic was for a wn111, but mainly it should be the same problem
