First ensure that you have the last updated bootloader, switch off at the rear, switch on again, then read the scrolling message, stating CFE v?, if it's v2 then it's fine.
Try a different USB stick, the cheaper, older, smaller sticks tend to work best.
Finally make sure you have downloaded the correct version, of Blackhole, this is the latest version, for the VU+ Duo2, but you will need to update online, to get to 3.0.3Q:
http://www.vuplus-community.net/board/threads/black-hole-3-0-3-h-kodi-vu-duo2.32202/

When downloaded, unzip, using winzip, winrar, or the free 7-zip.
You should then have a folder called vuplus, this should be sent to your freshly formatted, in FAT 32, USB stick.
Switch off your receiver, using the rocker switch, at the rear of the receiver.
Pull down the flap, front right, and insert your USB stick.
Switch on the receiver, at the rear, and press the power button, nest to the front USB port, on the right hand side, behind the flap.
Leave the receiver while it loads the file, then follow the installation menu, to set everything up.

bigger problem now
the device no longer shows the word update please click

Power off your DUO2 and don´t forget remove all usb devices attached to your STB ... after that connect the usb device that contains the files for flashing and retry.
