Problems DD sound with dutch Canaldigitaal HD channels

I recently swapped my amplifier to an ONKYO TX-NR609 model. This has 6 HDMI inputs allowing me to connect my VU+ UNO also via HDMI. This does not work as expected/desired:
- The dutch Canaldigitaal HD channels send a DD5.1 sound channel occasionally giving problems.
- Sometimes they sound fine but at other moments they produce a loud distorded noise only. This is right now always the case with NED-1 HD which is temporary dedicated as an olympic games channel.
- When switching ON the Downmix option the problem is gone always. But obviously i do loose DD5.1 that way. Not exactly my favourite option as I bought an expensive AMP to get quality sound on all channels. Now I keep toggling Downmix on and off regularly.
- If I connect the VU+ UNO directly to my Philips TV then the problem is identical (this TV accepts all DD and DTS formats and downmixes internally). Hence not an amplifier problem.

A search on Google gives me multiple hits with VU+ owners experiencing exactly the same problem. Most report it on the DUO though. No reports found on other brands.

I am using the latest BH 1.7.6 release firmware and re-scanned the satellite manually.

Very strange ... My Uno (or Ultimo) works regularly with DD 5.1 audio tracks also for SAT and MKV files.
I've the amply written in my sign ... My box is connected only via digital HDMI cable to Amplifier.

I never have any type of problems with MKV, AVI, DVD or other media using DD5.1 either, just with the various dutch Canaldigitaal HD channels. There are only a very few Sat Channels using the DD5.1 format today. DD is used by some but most of the time it is then DD2.0 next to regular MPG. These dutch channels only transmit DD5.1 with no other choices available.

Could some readers here just try NED1 HD (Astra-3 at 23,5E) to verify that it is a general VU+ problem and not just my setup please. It now happens all the time on that specific channel. My guess it that all VU+ receivers have problems with it.

Hello mate,
I just tested this channel on my Vu+Duo and Onkyo TX-NR609 and i dont have any problems. sound is perfect. please check your setup.

My excuses as it indeed was my setup. I just noticed that on the offending channel the Channel Selection (Green) was on Left instead of Stereo. Changing back the problem was gone.
No idea what this selection actually does with a DD5.1 signal? After downmixing it makes sense but not with the RAW Bitstream. Maybe the selection should be removed when the source is not Stereo?

But anyway it works now. Thanks for testing, it is very much appreciated.:)
