Hi,

I did my first timer recording this night.
I scheduled 3 titles.
2 titles from one channel and 3 rd between other channel....so 3 rd channel should be recorded together with 2 titles.
I found movie from other channel was black.
Now I am not sure if I need set some special option to record 2 separate channels.
I have set tuner A as DiseqC A/B and set to Astra 19,2 and Astra 23.5 and tuner B equal to tuner A.
Any Tips ?

If you want to recording at the same time on channels tranmitted on different transponders or satellite, you need to have two cable connected to your dish and not a DISEqC switch.
The first cable has to be connected to the tuner A and the second cable to the tuner B.

I have connected Quad output LNB for Astra 23.5 and 19.2...there are 2 cables connected to Vu+

If you have two DISEqC switch, I think your tuners configuration is ok.
Maybe the television programme of the black recording was cripted.

It depends also what do you use to descramble your channels as some PCMCIA modules can handle only ONE program at a time; to see 2 crypted channels you need a DUAL Cam-module.

Just try to record a channel and at the same time zap to an other channel to check if it is working.

Hmmm...you are right..I can see only 1 encrypted channel at a time.
I am now using Cryptoworks CAM, but mine will be SMIT IRDETO..Do anybody knows if SMIT Irdeto module supports to decode more channels ?
Or will I need to buy 2nd card ?

i think should be a card configuration and not a CI CAM parameter but I can be a mistake... My cards aren't CW or Irdeto

Can you please describe me what I can test ?
I am newbie and maybe some tips, driver updates etc...helps me a lot...
I found driver update on forum...should it helps to this case ?
Or maybe update of CAM should help...but I dont know how...

Give a look at Aston for example or google for "aston irdeto dual" and you will see that this one can handle 2 programs at a time. Probabely other brands can offer something....? but the key word is "dual".

Update for a cam is useless in your case, it is just made to match the dedicated crypt system when changes occur.

I checked more manufacturers, but Pro CAM units are pretty expensive. I got recommendation to try ******* for IRDETO and recommendation to *****.
As I never before tried *******, can anybody tell me how to install it ?

Hello again,

I am back to BH after trying some unsupported tweaks and I found it is unstable way to do it.
I have some additional question about BH image. (now installed BH v1.71)
I found if I want to use 2 crypted channels I need 2 cards in 2 CAM modules.( I am not able to find ASTON products here)
My questions:

- Am I right that I need 2 separate cards in 2 CAMs ?
- Need I assign channels to CAMs in menu for proper work or is it done automatically ? (Auto CAM ?)
- Need I scan both tuners for proper work ? (If I use same settings/channels for both)

1. Yes.
2. No if the 2 CI modules uses different CAID
3. You should install settings who covers the entire tuner configuration of your box

I have 2nd card on the way...so I have additional question regarding my problem.
I have both tuners set and tuned for same channels/providers.
And also I have same card in both CI slots.
Will Vu+ automatically detect, that unit must use 2nd card e.g. for PIP ?
Or can I assign each card to another tuner ?
And please what you mean with your answer to point 3 in previous post ?

Hi All,

My opinion not need 2 cams for 2 encrypted channels. I used Topfield TF5000 dual tuner receiver about 5 years without problem. I could recording 2 encrypted channels from different transponder in same time
Now I purchased the Ultimo and it currently cannot recording any two channels (free or encrypted) from different transponder so the PIP does not work too of course. I have 2 unique cable from the twin LNB to the Ultimo Tuner A and Tuner B.
I tried to BH 1.7.2 and VTi 4.1 and original V7 images and the results are same so practically Ultimo is unuseable
