That's what Mick meant by "new version": when there will be the new Kodi, we'll have also a new file to download.

That should be the next required update, most of the other updates are minor, often drivers, and not required, for most users.
If your receiver is working perfectly, you don't need to update, either by USB or online.
If you are experiencing any problems please post what they are.
