Hello every one ,
i want to setup my samba server (on vu+ duo) with user and password authentification , but i don't know how to do that .
can someone help me configuring my smb.conf ?

Hi danska!

Google the word "samba set up"!
There are a lot of Linux sites that will take U step-by-step to satisfy your request, and they are easy to understand, and they do not require registrations!

thank you a911 for your answer ,of course i googled "samba configuration" , the problem is that i cannot use some commands to set up samba like "smb passwd -a user".

I will look into VuPlus source where are the Samba utilities.

What about new package of samba ?

I try to install samba and i get

ipkg install /tmp/samba_3.0.37-r0_mipsel.ipk
Installing samba (3.0.37-r0) to root...
Collected errors:
* Package samba md5sum mismatch. Either the opkg or the package index are corrupt. Try 'opkg update'.
* Cannot find package samba.

Ok, sorry for the post.


Now i'v found samba via packages so everything is ok.
