Satellite channels not working - help!

Hi

I've set up my VU+ Zero box and all UK terrestrial channels work fine but I can't get any satellite (Sky) channels.

Can anyone tell me what I'm doing wrong?

The VU+ Zero is a single tuner satellite receiver.
Are you using a USB terrestrial tuner, to receive terrestrial channels?
How have you got the satellite tuner configured?
Can you please provide more information.

Thanks for your response - I'm afraid I'm useless at this stuff.

We had a Sky box and we've just replaced it like-for-like with a VU+ Plus box. Nothing else has changed (no USB tuner).

We followed the instructions in the manual so I thought this would have configured the satellite tuner?

We can see the 'Teletext' of the satellite channels but there's no picture or sound - it must be something simple we're not doing?
 
I assume you only have a fixed satellite dish, on 28.2E.
First you need to set the tuner, to simple, single, 28.2E, which I assume you've already done, but check by going into Menu, Setup, Tuner Configuration.
NExt try manually scanning in some FTA, Free To Air, channels.
Go into Menu, Setup, Service Searching, Manual scan, and enter a few frequencies, from lyngsat:

I've tried that and the FTA channels all work fine.

Is there any way I can get the non-FTA channels?
 
I could be wrong here but are you expecting the Vu Zero to just magically open any Sky channels that require a valid subscription card? If so it just doesn't work like that....
