Setting up SatCr/unicable LNB`s

Hi!

I have the Duo2 twin tuner, and 2 lnb`s on my dish... 1 for thor and 1 for astra.
But i have only one cable in to my house.

So question is can i change my LNB`s to satcr and be able to watch one channel and record/stream another with only one cable in to the house?

Anyone who can help me with setup from lnbs to tuner?

Regards

Basically no.
I'm guessing you currently use a Diseqc switch, which takes your two LNB's, and combines them to a single cable.
This will allow you to record, and view, only channels, on the same transponder, at the same time.
To get what you want you need to use twin LNB's, two outputs, and run separate cables, to either 2xDiseqc switches, or a two output Diseqc switch, and a second cable, to your Duo 2 second LNB input.

Yes, thats my setup now :)

But seems like SatCR/Unicable technology should make it possible to get what i want with 2 lnb`s combined to one cable... am i wrong? Whats the purpose of unicable then?

Anyone who has this type of LNB`s setup with vu+ receivers?

Sorry: something is not clear: how can you have at the moment 2 LNBs with only one cable? Unless you have a monoblock dual feed LNB. This would mean you don't have 2 LNBs but one dual, that's different and which would explain why you have only one cable.
Which Thor and Astra do you mean? There are many Astra satellites. Are you perhaps talking about 0.8W and 4,8E?

I have 2x single lnb`s on my dish now, 0,8 and 4,8... 1 coax from each lnb feed into a 2x1 diseq switch and one coax from diseq to receiver. This works fine to just watch TV, but i cannot watch one and record another at the same time with this setup. So what i am asking is if this can be done with only one coax in to the house if i use 2 unicable/satcr lnb`s :)

OK, now it's clear. As far as I know what you need is possible with SCR LNBs but I'm not the maximum expert because, at the moment, I've got only one SCR and two universal which I found out can manage also SCRs.
So I mixed the SCR and the 2 LNBs (each one with a double OUT) through a normal DiseqC switch (because I have many cables entering my BOX).
Probably a normal DiseqC switch can manage also two SCR LNBs, one as LNB1 and the other one as LNB2. About that, I'm confident but I'm not 100% sure.
If my switch has no problem in managing both types of LNB, I don't see why it shouldn't with two SCRs.

What is sure is that if you have no chance to add a cable to get INTO your VU+, you'll need 2 SCR LNBs to watch and record. After all, a Duo2 has got 2 LNB input exactly for this purpose.
After that, you'll find out if your current switch is suitable or not.
Someone else here has to answer you if you need to change also the switch.
