Slow down while playing MKV files in Mediaplyer

Hello everyone.
I have a VU SOLO2, and I noticed a problem while playing large MKV files.

When playing a large MKV file, especially 1080p files, there's a constant freeze/lag each 2-3 seconds for a very short split of a second, so that the video playback isn't smooth as it should be. Audio is fine, but it is quite evident.

The problem isn't with the TV I'm using, as the files play fine using the built in media player of the TV, either using USB or using the DLNA server on the SOLO2, so it must be a problem with the decoder itself.

Currently I'm running BlackHole 0.1 usind Mediaplayer2, but this problem happened in earlier versions of blackHole and with any media player I used.

Has anyone noticed this? I can upload a video showing this if needed.

Thanks!

The movie's size doesn't matter, this happens with movies of any size, both 720p and 1080p MKV files.

I uploaded a sample file of a movie. During the credits in the beginning I can clearly see lags/jumps in the video, so the playback isn't perfectly smooth. When I run it using my Samsung TV built in player, the same file works flawlessly without any lag, which means that the problem is with the VU+ decoder.
Here's the file you can also try:

Any idea what can be done? I think it's some sort of player or codec problem.

Thanks
