Solo2 BH 2.1.6 DVB-T problems

Hi,

I have a solo2 and have just bought a Terratec Cinergy DVB-T stick to plug in as I thought it was plug and play. The box recognises it alright but it isn't picking up channels when I do a complete scan. I have looked at lsusb and lsmod via a Telnet in, as well as looking in /dev/dvb and it isn't being recognised as an adapter at all or with an ID in lsusb or the dvb modules using lsmod. I have checked the kernel and firmware modules and they are installed but just not being used. It turns out that there are no packages for it to grab, hence why they aren't appearing in lsmod.

Can you help me fix this problem?

Also as a techie, this stuff is easy for me but it used to be easy and possible to do via a GUI in BH 1.3, is there a possibility to bring this back in a near future version of BH?

For some reason as a slightly related issue I can't seem to make any updates to the image?

We can start from http://www.vuplus-community.net/boa...images-debug-script-per-le-immagini-bh.21512/ to get all infos about your env and your device.

I followed the instuctions and this is the file I get back in /tmp.

Sorry for the delay, I thought upgrading to 2.1.7 might help but it hasn't so have rebuilt with it, configured the same as before.

Are you followed the instructions?
The log you posted is not the one generated by scripts.
After install bh.tgz package, reboot your box and after the box comes up, press Green - Blue and next run the Debug-dvb entry.
After that, get dvb_debug file from /tmp and upload here.

This should be better! Sorry, there was a small problem with the file that I had downloaded.

Yes but it says there aren't any. For example I doubled cheked the drivers for the stick as it said they were installed but said installed/unistalled 0 packages successfully. I seem to be missing the UrL fro the opkg updates too.

The issue you have should be fixed with updates released for 2.1.7 image series ....
I'm testing some fixes for Zero and I've updated the image after the initial setup to avoid problems and have a full working box.

I installed some add ons and it updated enigma2 but now it is saying there is nothing to update. I'm running 2.1.7 and did a complete scan after updating image componenta last night and didn't find any DVB-T channels.

These are the modules currently running:

root@vusolo2:~# lsmod

Module Size Used by Tainted: P

brcmfb 1590 4

dvb_bcm7356 1417125 27 brcmfb

dvb_base 4584137 187 dvb_bcm7356

bcm_event 2821 5 dvb_bcm7356

procmk 1668 2 dvb_bcm7356,bcm_event

ext2 56975 0

rt5370sta 830338 1

smsdvb 12724 2

bh_dvb_core 88115 1 smsdvb

smsusb 9868 0

smsmdtv 38550 2 smsdvb,smsusb

ipv6 326329 12 [permanent]

As you can see, none are related to the stick and I can't seem to download those drivers It simply says no packages modified, added or removed.

Is it possible to verify the fixes work on the Solo2 in 2.1.7.x and the online updates work for you? I am using the Vu+ wireless key in order to get the network. Would it be possible to have the fixes as a .tgz in order to install them via the Addons pane?

There are about 30/40 packages to be updated and I don't know what are involved into update.

These ones are related to your DVB-T USB device:
Code:
smsdvb 12724 2

bh_dvb_core 88115 1 smsdvb

smsusb 9868 0

smsmdtv 38550 2 smsdvb,smsusb
Your device is correctly detected and initiated ... but you can't make correct scan.
The update 2.1.7.1 fixes this specific issue.
Tried with my Solo2 one month ago and the issue was fixed also on that box.

Thanks! Is there another way I can get the update? Software update is returning 0 items to update. I am using the default skin if that is a help? I did, however, have this issue in 2.1.6.

I have checked information on the box and it is running 2.1.17.01 and is still not working. The firmware for the chip in the key isn't loaded but the box says is installed because it can't find the package. Reading around on the Internet, part of the reason is that the drivers which were firmware have been redone as kernel extensions but not changed in the list. Surely the driver for the chip should be in lsmod? Is there an update to the .conf files for the package installer?

I have also done a complete scan and still have no channels. What can you suggest to fix the problem? I was expecting it to work out of the box but it isn't and I have updated to the latest version of BH and still have no luck with it working.

With the default skin and Vu+ wireless key, I am unable to download anything to update the system or update the image, can you suggest a fix for this issue so I can fix the DVB-T issue? I am hoping that 2.1.8 fixes this bug with the tuning and is arriving very soon!

Thanks! We just wait then. Hopefully I can upgrade to 2.1.17 and see the issue fixed! I appear to have issues with software update and finding updates though, I always get 0 back, I also had this problem in 2.1.16 when 2.1.16.1 was available. Any solutions to this?

I've made software updates for my Zero during this week and no problems at all. I've started for my tests with a clean image from the Board and next updated online. All works properly.

After having installed a clean image, I can get updates but then it doesn't provide me with anymore. I believe the path for the software update on my box is wrong but don't know where to find it to fix it. It can connect, it just returns 0updates.
