SOLO2 stuck while playing large mkv file

Hello everyone.
I installed an internal HD, and regularly play mkv video files using the media player.

while playing a ~15gb 1080p file, I encountered a serious bug. When I try to jump to a different part of the file (more than 30 mins) through the remote control (long press on the ">>" button), the receiver hangs and gets stuck on the blue ball in the corner. Only a hard reboot of the receiver resolves it.

Has anyone encountered this? Is there a better media player for the SOLO2 than the stock one???

Happens often on big mkv files. Use mkvtoolnix to extract mp4 from mkv.

I was hoping for a better solution than such a workaround. doing this on large files might take too much time.

Maybe an alternative media player can deal with such big files??
 
There is media center. Dream explorer plays too. But mkv's are like isos, they contain more than 1 audio, more than one subtitles, and parsing them all is heavy for vu's. Maybe enable swap to make more free space for ram, also new firmware upgrades bring better compatibility every time so if you have an earlier firmware, upgrade to the latest. The mkvtoolnix doesn't take much time such as converting, is just like extracting a zip file.

Do you mean by that to extract the audio and video files separately, and then run them on my box? Will it work?
