Solo2, which way up should harddrive be installed?

I've installed it shiny side up sort of speak as this is way I've installed in pc computers and I'd always assumed it was so dust didn't settle on the electrical contacts on circuit board.

However there is not a large gap above harddrive and therefore wondered if I had installed correctly?
