Sound cutting out in Media Player, BlackHole 1.6.6

Vu+ Newbie
Hi

I got my Vu+ Duo yesterday and it's all still really new to me. I put the BlackHole image on there and some other bits like the Cool TV Guide and everything is working pretty ok. Also got a Samsung 1TB hard disk in there.

I've been using the media player tonight to watch a couple of videos, but the sound has cut out on a few occasions. It just goes silent all of a sudden, then the sound may come back after a minute or so.

There is nothing wrong with the video files. When I rewind the video and play the same section again, the sound will play!

What could be causing this? Is it a known issue? And is there a fix for this?

I read that there is another media player available for download, which might be better than the standard one. What is the name of this and is it worth getting?

Thanks!

Thanks, I will install those drivers later on.

So far I've not had any problems with sound cutting out while using EMC, which I think is a great plugin.

I know it's very difficult to create a player that plays everything perfectly, because there are so many different codecs and encoding settings. Maybe I'll give VLS a try as well, that always works well on PC.

Actually, is the VLC plugin just for streaming to and from a PC or can it be used to play files on the local HDD as well?
