SSH - Remote Character Set

Hello.
I use MC (Midnight Commander) a lot when I SSH into Linux devices.
On Enigma2 devices, I have to set the Remote Character Set to ISO-8859-1 to get the characters correct in Midnight Commander.
Any other devices work with UTF-8, Raspberry PI, CentOS, Ubuntu. etc.
Anyone Have a solution for using UTF-8 on Enigma2 ?
