Strange Remote Button Logic

Hi everyone,

Sorry for the rant, but I just don't seem to understand the logic behind the remote controller button mapping in BlackHole: OK button shows channel info bar and UP/DOWN arrows show channel list!? I find it very weird and unnatural...

I first thought it was unique to BH2.x and later, so I downgraded to 1.7.9, however it was still the same (although I could have sworn that it used to be fine on 1.7.9 before I upgraded for the 1st time). Is there a way to:
* Get back to the same button mapping under 1.7.9? [reflash old bootloader maybe?]
* Install an addon that let's me re-assign all the buttons (especially OK, EXIT and ARROWS)?

Thanks in advance.

Try to use the plugin:-

"quickbutton"

from the BH Feeds Plugins

Hi a911,
Thanks for the reply, however neither "quickbutton" nor the more flexible "multiquickbutton" offer the possibility to reassign the OK, EXIT and ARROWS keys.
I find it weird that with how open and customizable the platform is, there is no (easy) way to change the remote button mapping

Multi Quickbutton plugin indeed allows you to remap the 4 arrows (cursors) buttons :)
use:
Cross Up
Cross Down
Cross Left
Cross Right

Due to their reserved system use, clearly the OK and Exit buttons can't be remapped.

Thanks very much Eragon. I'm not sure if I missed it earlier or "multiquickbutton" got updated meanwhile, but now that I decided to give it another try and re-install it to see what I could do with CROSS UP/DOWN/LEFT/RIGHT entries, I actually not only changed the arrows like you said (thanks), but I also stumbled upon an option to allow remapping of OK and EXIT buttons

In case anyone is interested, here's what I did:
* installed multiquickbutton 2.7.13 from TS Panel
* to remap arrows, you can use CROSS UP/DOWN/LEFT/RIGHT like eragon said
* to remap OK and EXIT buttons, first press the number 1 button to show to additional entries in the list, which are hidden by default. (as shown at the very bottom right)

* enjoy

Be careful not to remain completely without an Ok or Exit button... you might be required to reflash the image!

Hi everyone I'm under OpenPli 6.2 and there is no way for me to remap the OK button, when I press the number 1 button nothing appears. Is there a way to remap the OK button using DCC ?

Said that this forum is almost all for BH or OpenBH images and therefore it's the OpenPli forum you should ask to, is not clear your problem. If nothing appears when you press 1, why do you want to remap the OK button?
If 1 appeared but OK didn't immediately finalize the choice, it would be different.

Look for the Hotkey menu located in Expert Settings. Hotkey will allow remapping of the OK button.

Thanks, this helped a lot. To enable the ''Hotkey'' option I had to first change the ''User mode'' to ''Advanced''. It's a shame that we can't remap the ''Left'' and ''Right'' buttons to ''Volume Down'' and ''Volume Up''.

I'm sorry for not asking this information in the right section.

Have a good day/night
