Streaming VU+ Duo

Vu+ Newbie
HI All,
I am new to this box but so far I am impressed with it's abilities. I have been streaming TV to my android tablet via my LAN and SD channels work fine but I guess the bandwidth is a little low for good HD.
I was wondering if it is possible to stream to my tablet in a remote location that has a Wi Fi hot spot?
If so is their a good tutorial on how to set this up?
Thanks in advance

I think that the first problem can be the output bandwidth of your connection, however you can make a vpn connection with tablet and vu+.
You can find many tutorials about vpn (see also openvpn).
For tablet there are many app about connect, control and stream with stb linux based.

If you have upload speed 4mbit no problem for streaming at all.
If you have upload 2mib you can stream many channels that have lesser bitrate.

You can do it without VPN also, but make sure you have port 8001 open.

Thanks for the input guys. I have 8mbit sometimes more. I will have to research VPN . This will give my old brain a workout!

No need for VPN

Just use vlc on remote cpu, have open webif activated, open ports 80 default for webif and port 8001 for streaming.

Sorry ALPA, but with port 80 and 8001 opened in wan there are some security problems.

It would be better to encapsulate the connection through a secure channel.
