Telnet commands for VU+

I am trying to access my Duo2 by telnet in order to invesitgate possible frozen reasons. However, I used a few telnet commands which I know such as ls, quit. The receiver does not respond those commands. It would be very appreciated if any one could offer a very basic tutuarial to use telnet access the receiver and some basic commands such as restart enigma2, reboot, soutdown...

I use windows 7 based putty as a telnet client.
