Ultimo/solo2 or wait duo2

I have saved up some cash and am wanting to buy another vu+ reciver.my duo will go upstairs and the new one whichever i get will sit in the living room in the place of the reliable duo that has served me so well.

The question i have is, what reciever do i buy??, im not to bothered about having a third tuner but suppose could in the summer climb up and install another cable to my lnb/motor.
all i want is a relaible box that does everything that the duo does just with more speed more memory and better quality HD.
Its out of the ultimo,solo2 or wait and get duo2 in april.
 
Well there is not a huge speed difference between Duo and Ultimo, but the Ultimo is a beast, with lots of memory and huge flash, and it's rock solid and with 3 tuners it is awesome.

If you don't need 3 tuners though, then the Solo2 is awesome, big speed difference between the Ultimo and Solo2, but with the solo2 you are stuck with the 2 fixed tuners.

As for Duo2, it's going to something special, but no official realese date yet, and the Ultimo got delayed a couple of times before it was finally released, so who knows the Duo2 could be a little while yet.
 
Thanks for your reply, so what is so awesome about the solo? what differences would i notice compared to duo? when using it??
 
Fast bootup time, fast restart time, transcoding (although very much in beta, it is a nice addition), it is just generally faster in everyday use, even going through the menu system, or epg is faster (I am not talking huge amounts faster, as the other box's are not exactly slow, but it is a noticeable difference, especially after using the Solo2 and then going back to the Duo / Uno / Ultimo).
 
Just installed the sol2 with b/h latest, what a box this is, its like a Ferrari ha ha.
The quality is instantly there when on HD and better than all the receivers ive seen.
I love its speed too its a no nonsense machine this one , well done to the Koreans again and not to forget B/H team.
