Help please! My HDD has stopped showing anything other that /var/ in FTP sessions. I vae tried to initialise it via BH setup and it fails with the onscreen message of:
Unable to initialise hard drive. Error: Creating partition failed.

I deleted the partition in a putty session but still get the above error
If I try to create a DOS partition in a putty session it fails when I apply the write command with:
Command (m for help): w
The partition table has been altered.
Calling ioctl() to re-read partition table
fdisk: WARNING: rereading partition table failed, kernel still uses old table: Invalid argument
How can I get the disk setup again?

I would recommend that U remove the HDD,,,then take it to a PC shop for regular formatting,,,,and re install again!
May be U know to do that yourself,,,or Google for tips!

you're doing something wrong then. If original image is not working - there is no way that your pc will not format it unless disc is f...d (in engineering jargon saying :))
Write everything what you're doing during initialization in original and when you're trying to format it.

I have sorted this! I FTP'd to the box, navigated to the HDD folder and deleted every file/folder in it. I then went into setup on the box and created a new mount point for it. That made it usable again. Finally I created a folder called movie, set all the permissions correctly and re-saved the recording path. Happy days!

Read carefully the News about Image Release: there is supported the MOUNT of HDD formatted into NTFS filesystem, NOT THE FORMAT on the box.
After the HDD format process made on Windows PC, you can mount your HDD via Devices Manager (2 x Blue button).
HDD format on box creates Linux partitions as usual.

When the device is correctly mounted on the box, it works like an internal HDD formatted into the box: you can do anything.
