Request Uno or Ultimo in a Special Config

Hello,

I want to buy a Vu+ Satellite Receiver with HD capabilities. Both models respond to my needs.
The response to this question will decide the model.

My Need:
I want to be able to record a program in a channel while I'm viewing another one or zapping between other channels. Channels can be on other transponders or even other satellites (see Config below).

My Config:
- 4 satellite dishes fixed on the terrace of my house
- Each dish has ONE LNB
- Cables from the 4 LNBs are grouped by a 4 way splitter on the terrace
- a Satellite Cable from the splitter is coming to to my living room where the TV is set

Question:
1/ Can I buy a Vu+ UNO and respond to my need ? Should I use the Loopback IF with Y splitter ?
2/ Should I buy the ULTIMO (not DUO due to processor speed) and use a Y (2 way) splitter ?

Can you please go further in details regarding the Disecq ? a 2 way splitter near the Vu+ to plug the 2 output cables to the 2 Vu+ tuners ?

Hello my friend,

duo or ultimo will suit your needs!

you will need from your satelitte dish,
4 lnb twin output
each output of each lnb will have to go to a 4/1 disecq switch,
and the a cable going to each input of your receiver (ultimo ou duo).
then you'll be able to watch on channel(or record) and seeing another one on the same time,
another channel on the same frequencie or even on another satelittes.

I draw a schema. Can you please confirm the missing equipment (in Red in the picture) is another disecq ? is it 2 way ?

You would need to bring atleast 2 cables inside the house from the dish.

You can do it, either: as you have it now, but with only 3 lnb's going into 1 cable, and then the 4th lnb on it's own.

Doing it like that, you can record on 1 satellite and watch anything from the others on the other tuner.

OR

Get 2 diseqc swtich's, and run 2 lnbs into 1 switch, and the other 2 into the 2nd swtich, then run them to 2 tuners on the ultimo.

This will allow you to record from 1 satellite and watch from the 2 on the other tuner.

OR (and this imo is the best way)

Get 3 tuners in your ultimo, and run 2 lnbs together into 1 diseqc switch, and then run the other 2 lnbs into there own tuners on your ultimo.

Now you can record from 1 or 2 sats together, and still watch from a 3rd sat.

I have another suggestion. Please comment it:
I will install a "MultiSwitch" in the terrace : 4 dishes in and 4 cables out. Each cable from the "out" will go to a room in my house giving me the opportunity to install an indepandent receiver in each room.

Then in the living room (subject of my question) I will put a (Disecq Switch / Splitter) to split the signal from the multi switch in one cable to 2 distinct cables going each tuner in the ULTIMO.
What do you think ?

I think there will be other members on here, that would be able to give more details setup info than I could.
