USB 3.0 ?

Would it make any ( positive ) difference using a USB 3.0 memory stick rather than a USB 2.0 memory stick for viewing HD videos in media player mode ?

The boxes have only USB 2.0 controllers. No significant performance increasing should you have with USB 3.0 devices.

I tried to play a few videos ( .mp4 ) from USB stick , the vidos did not stream as I expected ; was rather like streaming jpeg rather than smooth streaming video. So I thought that transfer rate of the USB stick might have an influence.

I think the problem can be a codec problem regarding your MP4 files...

Just another question regarding USB memory containing personal data : are there any steps one should follow when inserting or taking out the USB stick like the "safely remove hardware" procedure on a PC ?
