USB pen drive for everything

Vu+ Newbie
I have got a Vu+ Solo box and i am experiencing many problems with my USB and HDD drives...
I have a USB hub on the box with an external power supply and whenever i restart the box (shutdown or restart, no matter what) my HDD fails to start (initialize) or it losts the mountpoint... As you can imagine, this drives me crazy because i loose every time that this is happening the timeshift and the record operation...
Have you any solution on this?

To the point of this thread now... (The above was an introduction...)
I am wondering if i can use ONLY an usb pen drive (16Gb~oo) and get all the enhancements i need:
EPG backup (EPG load)
Swap drive
Recording
Timeshift
Picon load drive
e.t.c.

You think that all these can work together?
 
Well I use a USB pen drive for everything but recording (this goes onto hard drive in VU+)

I did try a USB hub, like you I binned it after a little time because it was unstable. I now have 750gb Hard drive - 16gb USB pen drive and when I want to watch a Avi movie I plug in a USB (2gb). This works for me.....

You have plugged in the back USB the HDD and in the front USB the 16Gb Usb?
 
Not sure what your asking so:

Internal: 750gb Hard drive - this is used for recording from channels only
Rear USB: 16gb USB Stick (cruzer) - this has picons, timeshift, tv guide stored.
Front USB: Only use when wat to watch movie stored on 2gb pen drive.

You must use a very good USB Hub with external power and all works good.
Without external powered Hub some devices should be very instables with the box.
 
I have already mentioned that i was using an usb hub with an external power supply from the first time i plugged 2 usb's (HDD & Stick) on the Solo, and the problems with instability was occurred immediately...
That's why i opened this thread in order to find out where is the problem...
Can you please give me the type or model you suggest me as the USB hub with external power supply?
