USB Turbo tuner seen but no signal

Pixs

Vu+ Newbie
Hello,

I have a problem with my Vuplus USB Turbo tuner connected to a Vuplus Zero.
The tuner is detected in the system. I can search for channels and it works.

But after several days (don't know exactly how much) it stops working. It behaves as there was no signal.
At that moment, if I try to seach channels, nothing is found.

Reboot does not fix this issue.
I have to unplug the DC power supply and tuner for several hours to get it working back (if I'm lucky...).

The Zero has the latest BH image.

Any ideas how to fix that?

Thanks a lot

It migth be a overheat problem, otherwise, if it was just a bug, it should work immediately, at least after disconnecting and reconnecting it. If it needs some time to work, probably it's a temperature problem. But it's only an hypothesis.

Thank you for the hint.
I opened the usb tuner and installed a heat spreader.
I also lowered the gain on the amplifier of the cable provider.

So far so good.

Well, after a few months of working with intermittence, here is a quick feed back.

The cable company has a signal amplifier with two kind of outputs. +4db and +0db.
The problem is the same whatever output is used.

I could try with two Turbo tuner and with a Vu Zéro and a Vu Solo2. The result is the same.

The last thing I tried is to remove the filter which is installed to bypass the upstream band on the cable (since that tuner does not need upstream this was logic to install it).

And now it works like a charm!
