Using Vu+ Zero remote control on Vu+ Solo

i just bought a Vu+ Zero and was wondering if it's remote control is compatible with my old Solo box? Basically, my friend will take over my Solo box, and since I'm using a universal remote, and have misplaced my original Solo remote, I was wondering if he can use the Zero remote on the Solo... I tried it straight out of the box on the Solo (with batteries :), but no response... Is there anything I need to do to make it work, or won't it ever work?
