Duo / DuoLE VU duo purple lines menu/epg OSD,locking up

Hi guys, I have a two and a half year old vu duo that has recently started playing up. When using epg/menu or infobar, purple lines start flickering on the screen, just on the graphics not on the broadcasted channel. This gets worse if I don't exit the menu's quickly, and the box can lock up if the menu's are browsed for a period of time. They can develop into black white lines on the whole screen, and then its a restart required. Is it worth trying the power supply, main board, or is it for the scrap heap?? Screenshot of problem attached.
Suggestions welcome.
