Vu+ Duo sound very distorted

I have an intermittent problem with occurs on various version of the Blackhole image (currently 1.7.8).

When I switch off and restart the box, the sound is very distorted on all channels. Switching the box off and on usually clears the problem but the problem is now more frequent. The only way to clear the latest occurrence was to leave the box switched off over night.

Any thoughts/ suggestions.
 
is the box very old?
I'd try with new lead (I believe you use hdmi) and test optical output and scart if problem is exactly the same. Have you tried another TV?
 
i have similar problem with my uno... problem its only present in analog output , the problem happens sometimes when zaping channels ...Its either a DAC problem or final audio stage problem in the analog Output...

workaround : connect it with HDMI cable to your TV , connect the amp to the TV audio output , then , you will use the TV DAC instead...
