Vu+ Duo stuck on "Reading Usb" when update

Hi.
A friend of mine has a Vu Duo who has just been resurrected from the red light issue. Now it works fine as it boot normally and load the image who was installed before (vix). Now I'm trying to update with a newer image (tried with italysat and black hole too) but it stuck everytime on "reading usb".
I've tried everything with 3 different usb stick (which one of these works fine with my Duo2 for the update, a kingston 32gb usb3.0), tried to format all in fat32, a small partition less than 1gb on fat and fat32. everything...
I don't know what to do...
anyone can help me?

Better try small flashdrive (8Gb is already good) and much better USB2. Duo2 is more recent and could behave differently from Duo.
 
worked with a 16 gb kingston 2.0! didn't know had to wait 2 or 3 minutes for the update to start..with Duo2 only few seconds.
