As far as I know you do not need to update bootloader
but provided that you have the original box.
For full backup I'm not sure because I do not use.
But I think that you can use channels and satellite settings backup.
If I Backup System settings will that save all my channels and satellite settings?
yes if you do personal backup It will save all your settings,plugins etc..
after installing the new image just do restore
