I know that this has probably been hashed out already but would you
Notice a major difference between these two STBs from a day to day basis?

Vu+ Duo is dated and soon will be replaced by Vu+ Duo2
Vu+ Duo have two tuners but less ram and cpu power
Vu+ Solo2 have two tuners but much more ram and Cpu power.

The best choice is to buy a Vu Solo2 or wait for Duo2.
 
Vu+ solo2 also has 2 tuners. I know as I have a solo2 with a fixed feed on 28.2 connected to tuner a and a motorised dish connected to tuner b.
Basically the solo2 has 1300 mhz processor, more ram, bigger flash and also supports transcoding.
Also looks better in my opinion.
If you ask me the solo2 wins every time.

I'm thinking from an operational point of view

I might be selling my duo but will i notice enough of a
Difference to warrant spending extra cash if my duo
Is working well with the latest BH image?

What exactly is transcoding please?
 
Transcoding allows you to control and watch your telly from outside your lan.
I can watch tv, change channels, etc on my mobile or tablet anywhere. As long as I have a 3g or wifi connection.
