VU+duo Weird Problem - no picture

Hi Guys

I have been using my VU+Duo for almost 20 months now without any problem.

I am using BH 2.0.7.3 in flash and also the same image in meoboot with 4 or 5 plugins on 4GB USB stick.

When I put the VU+duo ON it starts and the TV too is switched ON (HDMI-CEC). I can see the channel name on the VU+duo screen but NO PICTURE on TV. The TV Sony Bravia KLV-40EX400 says HDMI 1 input "NO SIGNAL".

I tried to use the VU+Duo remote to change channels and increase/decrease the volume, the receiver VFD display shows this change in channel. Still no picture nor sound on the TV.

Then, after 3 to 5 minutes or so after playing with the remote, suddenly the picture comes on the TV. Such problem never happened to me before.

I am not sure how/why this weird problem is caused with this latest BH image, Bootloader, hardware problem or something else.

This happens every time I put my receiver ON after long sleep/deep standby.

Any suggestion/recommendation/help appreciated.

Hi Guys

Tried different options, changing different ports on TV (4 hdmi ports on TV), changing HDMI cable, but still problem not solved.
-At times picture comes on TV and then suddenly blank again, this keeps on happening :wallbash:
-Components connections works fine:) but the picture quality is not that good.
-Tried disconnecting meoboot/USB and the same problem with flash image too.

Any suggestions/comments appreciated.

Tks

Hi m8's

The HDMI output works most of the time but suddenly it goes off = It says no signal on tv, then I have to change tv setting to Component. After a few minutes I try again on HDMI, it works again.

Is it possible that spraying the VU+DUO HDMI port with Contact spray help?

Thanks for any suggestions/help.

PS: The warranty has expired since it was bought in March 2011

A big german seller apply 36 months (3 year) of warranty and I hope it's your situation.
For contact sprays I don't know

Tks Angelofsky for your suggestions.
My VU+duo was bought from Dubai (DXB) VU+ agent who offer only 2 yrs warranty.

Yes, could help. But use not oily one. And check your fan too. Just to be sure, that is working.

I have sprayed the HDMI Port with Contact spray but still same problem.

By-the-way, The Standbymode Fan Control settings = Fan basic action = ON. But I can see the fan is not working.
Do you think since the Fan not functioning (not working) could be the problem? (FYI the temperature here is cold 6 Deg. C)
How can I test the fan if it is faulty?

Thanks for your help

Hi Paolino - Do you think since the Fan is not functioning (not working) OR the control circuit is dead, so that could be the HDMI problem?

Any solution. So far the VU+duo is working well with the component output.

@Supermario : Yes, could be a result of continuous long time MB overheating problem. Could be also HDMI connector solderings problem.
PS: As I remember well, HDMI output goes out directly from main processor.

Hi Guys

Can any one guide me how to replace the defective (not working) fan on my VU+Duo.
Tried unscrewing the 4 screws on the cooling defective fan but the fan does not come out without removing the power board.

Any help/suggestions appreciated.

Tks

PS: I tried to install 3 new HDMI cable but nothing works. I then reconnected the original HDMI thin HDMI cable which came with VU+Duo and it works 90 % of the time, only sometimes NO SIGNAL, then I have to switch to Component. I dont know what is the catch with this thin HDMI cable :)

Now, I have the same Problem. For me help deactivate the HDMI-CEC Plugin. Maybe its an HW Problem after 3 Years.

Happy new year.
