Vu Duo, where's your network?

Hi to all.

Recently, I had some issues with my box, meaning that each time I tried to record (external hdd connected), the record process stopped after 2 seconds and Gui was automatically restarted. After a lot of patience, I attempted to reinstall the image, for the first time after one year.

All has been ok, but network! No matter, how many times I installed the image, I checked connections to modem, box, etc, it's not possible to have it connected to my local network, so no access to it is possible! I have a cable connection not a wifi.

What could be possibly going wrong?

Below is a pic showing the cable connection to my modem (green light, all ok), connection to box ethernet (green light, all ok), and network test, which shows that it cannot get an ip address, although I can see in the modem admin that an ip address has been given to vu duo (!).

Hi Matrix10.

It's modem rooter. How should I fix IP address? Within modem admin?

Up to now, I could see bm750 appearing in the ethernet connections, bm750 for vu duo, the only wired connection in my lan. I deleted it, however, now I can see it anymore, as if there is no connection to vu duo, in order to get an ip. I attach a screenshot:

menu > setup > system > network > adapter setting change dhcp to 'no' and enter fixed (static) IP address which matches your network range. Check it with your PC what range your network is (192.168.1.xxx or 192.168.0.xxx).
Subnet should be 255.255.255.0, gateway and name server (DNS) - usually your router IP address (if router is quite new)

BTW did you check your network cable? If ethernet card 'talking' to router you should see that 2nd LED (left hand side) is flashing
