vu+ duo2 manual

Hi. Does the Duo2 norrmally come supplied with a user manual. Mine arrived with only a Easy setup guide. It was in a sealed bag. Luckily for me I had a Ultimo before and most of the instructions are the same. If I was a first time buyer, I would have been totally lost.
I have downloaded the manual from the vu+ official sight, but now have to print it myself, and print cartridges are not cheap

"Think before you print".
Mostly all world producers of consumers electronics are delivering now all products with only easy setup guide. To save trees and energy. You can read your user manual in electronic form and print only what you need. To save your money too.

Well, I believe that a printed copy would be more professional and appreciated by users. Also, do you think it's a good idea adding a very annoying big banner under text in ALL pages??? OK, they don't want any problem with pirated copies via OCR or other possible solution, but we pay for a very good product and I believe this great receiver would deserve a hard copy in the package (or at least a "clean" electronic copy).

My sentiments entirely, there should be a hard copy provided, particularly for a high end receiver and it's price!

Please start a new thread, in the relevant section. This is for the VU+ Duo2, you state you have the VU+ Duo, can you please confirm which version you have, as it is very important that you download the correct version of Black Hole. The latest being 2.1.1, with the latest drivers.

Further from my last message, when downloading the "Official" Manual the quality is unacceptable :( the display of photo's are almost illegible! Surely an official printed version supplied with the receiver would be far more professional, this is not a low end receiver :glare:

Normally I prefer a PDF format manual as it is searchable if you want something specific and can't think what section it would be in, can't search a paper document. It saves paper and you can always have a copy to hand by downloading wherever you are, if needed. Solo2 guide is 86 pages, better as a good pdf ?

But I agree this is not a good copy, it seems scanned into a pdf file rather than copied. Hence the fuzzy edges and lack of ability to search.
It is worth considering converting it to a proper pdf document, this must be possible whatever format it is in.

I also like downloadable manuals so that I can read them before buying, lets me see what features things have in more detail. These manuals are as much advertising as anything else in this case so a better copy would be worth it, should take someone about 30 mins ?

You have missed my point entirely! yes an online manual is good if it is legible of which the Duo2 is not entirely!
I have paid good money for this receiver and I would expect at the price a proper manual to come with it.

As in any good manual you only need to look at the index, and it will show the page you require.

I cannot agree that it saves paper, other than saving the manufacturer's cost!
Firstly as a buyer of the product you have to spend time searching for the manual online.
Secondly a printed copy is far more useful for reference than searching for it on a computer.

I think we will have to agree to disagree. That said if you read my comments again you will see I did agree the copy was not good.

On the searching bit that is just my preference, I prefer it to paper as searchng can look for keywords rather than trying to guess which section the answer is in. Just what I personally find easier.
Like most manufaturers these days the link to the manual is on the web page giving product details. Not really difficult to find.

My only quibble with it is the lack of search ability as it is basically just a photocopy.
Since this is not really relevant to using the box and software I have nothing more to add. But a searchable download would be nice :)
