Vu+ Duo2 Tuner Issues

Hi Everyone,

I'm hoping someone can help, as I'm really confused and bitterly disappointed with the Duo2 so far

I have just moved from a dm800hd to a Duo2, with a 1m motorised dish, all my channels scanned
in perfectly fine, until I switched to the duo2.

The Duo2 scans all normal SD channels just fine, but misses out various HD channels? especially
on 19.2e, 0.8w, and 13.e, but manages to scan 28.2e just fine?

I have re-aligned the dish manually many times, to the best possible signal strength, and re-scanned
but it still misses many HD channels?

Switch it back to the dm800hd, and all my HD channels are back again?

What can I be possibly be doing wrong? from what i read from other forums, it looks like the tuner
in the duo 2 is pretty awful? have i just wasted £450 of my hard earned money?

Any advise would be much appreciated.

PS, I'm using the latest Blackhole 2.0.7.3 image.

What are your missing channels.?...will check against my duo 2

Canal Plus Sport HD 19.2e
Canal Plus Sport HD 13.2e
C+ Futbol HD 19.2e
TV2 sport premium 0.8w

But my point is why I'm I receiving such weak signal on the duo2, when on the dm800, the signal is very good?

Shall I ditch the existing tuner and buy a new one?

I think you have not an issue with your tuners but with your settings.
Did you try to download and to install settings by Addons Manager?

I have all those @ 83% +

1.2m dish North of England

Can you please give me more details about installing a settings addon?

I'm not too sure what that means?

And how will that help my situation?

This is far from the truth

DUO2 has a better tuner.
If not, then you have broken tuner,
or bad SAT list or tuner configuration.

I receive these channels with a 80 cm dish from the north west of EU

signal 80% or more
 
I'm sure the tuner is good, But what advice can you give me to get a better signal?

Is there a guide on how to set up a motorised dish properly?

Here's an example of the problem...

I get 68% signal on Nat Geo HD on 0.8w...

But switch to Eren 6, same satellite
I get 45%?

Any ideas why this is?

1. Some channels transmit a higher signal others...you will find these variations on all Sats.

2. i get 97% on Nat Geo HD
3. Eren 6 ....not on my data base

4. I suggest you realign your dish correctly before condemning the VU tuner.

In green panel menu (you can ope it pressing the remote green button), you can find the Addons Manager and the option to download and install some settings package.

if you read my original post, you will see I have mentioned that I have manually re-alined many times.

Mito,

I will give that a try today.
