VU+ get stuck if verify filesystem

Hello,
my VU+ with BH 2.1.4. always get stuck if I try to verify the filesystem: you can watch the TV in the background but it does not respond to any key and I have to power it off.
If I use the telnet it is possible to check the disk and
fsck -a /dev/hda1

would be the right command to perfom the check?

When I try to do a file system check on my Ultimo I get an immediate message to the effect that a check cannot be run as the check totals do not agree. If they did, presumably there would be no need to run a check. Does anyone have any suggestions how to make a check work?

Only OBH, usually, seems to succeed in checking file system.
