Vu plus Uno

Vu+ Newbie
Hi,

I recently replaced my Technomate 5000DA which is connected to a motorized satellite dish with a VU plus Uno.
The question is that how do I configure the Uno to drive the motorized satellite dish? What I need to do is to have the satellite pointed to Hotbird 13.0 E and Astra 19.2E.
At the moment the way I get round to my problem is to use my TM5000DA to point to either Hotbird or Astra and then I view the channels from my VU+Uno, but it would be nice to have the VU+ to do this for me.
Your help will greatly appreciated and if you live close or around London, the coffee is from me.

Hi ,
Thank you for trying to help.

Can you clarify what you are referring to a "pm" and "teamviewer installed please?"

George

giorgos what i mean is send me a pm personal message on this and you need to download a programme onto your laptop or pc called teamviewer just google for it then install then message me and i will have it sorted within 20 minutes for you my friend

By the way, I do not use Usal. My setup is as follows:
1. Configuration mode: advanced
2.Satellite: Hotbird (13.0 E)
3.LNB1
9.DiseqC mode: 1.2 (as per TM5000DA)
Longitude:013.00
East
LAtidute 000.040
Usals: No
Stored position 001.

For Astra: 19.2 E
DiseqC 1.2
Longitude 019.200
EAst
Latitude 000.030
North
Usal: no
store position 002.

However, the above does not work. Why?

The team viewer is bad for the forum and yours menbers. The Q & A in the forum is a best way.
2
USALS at day is the best solution for vu uno and others recs, of course.

Hi Dimoni,

Can you (or anyone else), let me have a configuration of how to drive my motorized Technomate dish for Hotbird 13.0 E and Astra 19.2 E please? As I said before, I am currently positioning my satellite dish using the TM5000DA and then view the channels using the VU+ Uno. Unfortunately the manual does not give any explanation or examples of how to configure a VU+ Uno to drive a motorized satelitte dish... Thanks

Hi Dimoni,

Your assistance is greatly appreciated. However, having tried your suggested setup, it appears that what you are suggesting is probably not for a Uno but for another box.

The setup I am following is as follows;
1. Menu
2.setup
3.Service searching
4.Tuner configuration
5.Tuner A.
6. Configuration Mode: Simple
7.Mode. Single

Under Mode I can only find the following: Single, Toneburst A/B, Diseqc A/B, Diseqc A/B/C/D and positioner. However, there is no motor as suggested.

Perhaps is the configuration Mode "advanced I should follow as it appears to have many more choices to choose from!!!

Any other help please?

Regards,

Giorgos...

Hi Dimoni,

I have just configured my VU+ Uno as you suggested and IT WORKS as it can now find the channels from the two satellites (13.0 East and 19.2) without the assistance of my old TM5000DA unit. Many thanks for all your help which is greatly appreciated and if you happen to be in London drop me a line and the beer is from me. As it happens I live North of London.
By the way, I managed to get my coordinates from the below URL if anyone wants to know "http://www.satsig.net/maps/lat-long-finder.htm".
Once more many thanks...

Giorgos

I'm glad that it works for you.
Be aware that this same configuration is not just for those two satellites but also you can see all the other satellites in your deco.
You'd just put a list of channels and vhannibal engine/positioner/motor for example.
Like I said I'm glad, prepare beer'm going there tomorrow, jeejje
Cheers.
