Hi everyone.
For posterity and - I hope - as an aid to people who have just bought a VU+ to use with a single LNB with a motorized 38 Volt type dish and an actuator such as a Superjack, I would like to offer a list of the settings on my system, because a couple of them are extremely important in order to get things working straight away. This also needs to be used every time you have added a satellite using, e.g. the satloader plugin to add new satellites, otherwise the satellite will not appear in the list on the "search for services" (or move dish) page.
Lines marked * are important.
Menu -> Service Search -> Tuner Setup. Click on the top entry, Advanced, then on LNB and right click to LNB 1.
* Satellite name: select which satellite you have added or wish to use with your dish/LNB.
At the same time make a mental note of which number you have
given or plan to give this satellite in your Superjack (e.g. P01, P02
because you need to match this setting up with the final setting below).
* LNB 1
Priority Auto
LOF Universal LNB (change as required)
Voltage Polarization
Increased Voltage No
Tone Mode Band
* Diseq Mode 1.2 (This is the setting used for motorized, "non-Diseq",
non-USALS setups)
Toneburst None
Comm. Diseq Command None
Fast Diseq No
Sequent. Repeat No
Command order committed, toneburst
Uncommitted Diseq command None
Dideq Repeats None
Use Power Management Yes
Power Threshold 50 mA (this is a safe level)
Rotor turning Fast (depending on the size of your dish, fast is fine for our 1.6m)
(on the next page are two extremely important settings
**Use USALS NO (do NOT use USALS with this kind of setup or you will very
likely burn out the motor or smash the dish into your chimney)
**Satellite Number: Here you need to enter the "stored position" number that you
have given this particular satellite in your Superjack - the one which
shows on the front Panel of the Superjack as e.g. P01, P02 etc.
Store and now you can go and search for services in the usual way and the satellite should now be in the list.
