VU Solo 4k Splash Screen then nothing...

Butson

Vu+ Newbie
Hi,

I had a power surge yesterday and when i turn everything back on my 4k shows a boot screen then nothing. The fact that i have a picture from boot would indicate that it's still functioning. I have ssh and browse to the machine (streaming also works) but there is not picture on the TV. I've re-patched but this doesn't do anything as i'm left with the splash screen the HDMI signal is lost.

Any Ideas?

Many thanks

Can you try with another TV?

Can you try with another TV?
Thanks for the swift reply.

I have and it's the same.

I've checked the cables and i'm using a HDMI which works with other devices.

strange that the splash screen is shown correctly but post boot HDMI signal is lost.

That's strange, unfortunately I don't think the Solo 4K has a scart socket, so you can check it.
Your 4K display shows it working but your television shows no HDMI connected.
Can you please try using your PC, to access, and view your receiver, via the network.
Use dreambox control centre, to locate your receivers IP address, dcce2_150, you should be able to find it online.
Start up the DCC_E2.exe option, then click on Suchen, under Dreambox, and Suche.
This should then show your VU+ 4K IP address, make a note of it.
Start up Filezilla, or other browser, and type in the receivers IP address, e.g. 192.168.1.1, and it should start Openwebif.
On the left you should see all your options, including the remote control, and top left a little blue square, which should allow you to view your receiver, using a player like VLC.
It will also allow you to enter your receivers menu, and check/alter your display settings.
Of course this wont help if the problem is your receivers hardware, but it will allow you to check things.
Please post back, with the results, or if you have any problems.

i can ssh and browse to the machine. streaming is fine. it's seems to be purely a problem with the HDMI post boot.

i have flashed to OpenVix and the boot logo changes. When i revert back to BH it changes back.

Are you stating that with OpenVix your receiver is working normally, and you can see it, on your television?
When using Openwebif, have you used the virtual remote control, to alter your display settings, then re-booted your receiver and checked to see if it then works?

Actually, it seems he sees ONLY the logos, if I understand his posts.
If you are completely sure you did not choose by mistake a resolution your TV cannot handle (this is a possibility only if your TV is not an UHD one and you set, for instance, 2160p as the default resolution using a FullHD TV) I suspect something wrong in the GPU (the graphic card, I mean) which is really fully activated only when the GUI starts, not before.

Finally, but this is very very unlikely, I'd try another HDMI cable (I know you said it works with other devices but electronics devices are odd things!).

Hi guys, i think i have the same trouble with my new solo 4k. booting up with the logo and showing no signal once fully booted. can anyone help pls?

If it's actually displaying a No Signal message, then it's not the same problem.
No Signal can be one of a few problems:
Software:
Your Tuners aren't set up correctly. Go into the Menu, Service Searching, Tuner Configuration, and check how you have your tuner set up.
The channel List has become corrupted. Go into the menu, Service Searching, and try scanning in some channels.
Your Satellites.xml file has become corrupted.

Harware:
Your cable, from your LNB, has become loose, check both ends.
Your LNB has become faulty, cable damaged, or dish has moved, try your receiver on a different dish/LNB.

If none of these help please post back with more detailed information.
