it was working grand monday night the only thing i did to the box since i got it was update the ts media and turn on vpn in network settings and was working grand but i pulgged it in today and all thats coming up is black hole with a white star on the left of the writing. Normally it comes up but then the sky logo comes up after that but only getting s far as black hole.

Well, you look to have some skill...
Generally the solution is to flash a new image and start from scratch.
If you have made a previous backup you could try to restore it.
