VU+ Ultimo Completely dead or at least locked

VU+ Ultimo with 2.0.1 BH Image.

While trying to "unmount network drive mapped" the machine froze completely. The last system message was something like "waiting to disconnect network map"...
Now it does not respond to turning of the power. Nor is it possible to get the machine to accept a usb stick in order to re flash the unit.
In desterate need of some expertize to restore the unit.
I have of course back up of the latest working image.
Please, please...any tips?

Embarrasing....Problem solved. The problem was two active output sources, HDMI and component. Disconnected the component cables and then no problem.

Seems to me that you just bypassed the problem. Having HDMI and Component outputs connected at the same time to the same or different boxes should not cause any lock-up. Something to look at is a potential grounding problem. I had serious problems after moving to HDMI when I included my Tower PC in the setup. Only grounding all equipment to the same power-cable source solved that problem in a reliable way. Be aware HDMI will hard interconnect equipment electrically. Analog cables typically have a capacitor based coupling.
