VU+ Ultimo Overheated

Vu+ Newbie
Hello, Everyone!
I own a vu+ ultimo with two satellite and one Terrestrial tuner, with BH 1.7.6. The problem that I'm facing is that my ultimo gets overheated quite fast and the source of heat seems to be the tuners. The system fan seems to operating OK. Should I install vu +7.0 Official Image first? I see it mentions something about a temperature calculation algorithm fix and a change in the lowest fan speed. Are these fixes incorporated in BH 1.7.6? Does anyone else experience similar issues? Any help or ideas would be appreciated!

The features mentioned into Official Vu+ images are incorporated into BH images.
Turn ON Fn in standby mode too. My Ultimo is not overhead ;)

Can we assume you box is well ventilated and away from other heat sources ?

First of all thank you for your prompt replies.
My box is well ventilated with no other heat sources in proximity, however it currently operates at a room temperature of 31 degrees Celsius. The problem of excessive heat occurs during normal operation (I never leave it at stby, I shut it down). The increased temperature is located on the top surface near the scart port and the tuners. With no channel changing the surface temperature is (almost) acceptable, however it rises at a disconcerting level with intense channel changing. I don't know maybe it is all normal taking into account the high room temperature, however I would expect from a well designed machine equipped with active ventilation better results as far as heat management is concerned.
Another piece of information that might be of interest is that while having BH 1.7.5, I tried to install an addon called something like "Fan Control 2" with disastrous results: continuous reboot loop with green screens. I then installed BH 1.7.6 but made no further attempt to install the addon.

You don't need external plugin to manage the fan. Press green button and use Manual fan control already shipped with image

Hello. My Ultimo gets very hot around the twin tuners, even in standby. Current BH Fancontrol settings in Standby are :-
FanOFF In Stanby ..... yes
PWM Value ..... 100
Status Check Period .. 10 seconds

I haven't installed any plugins yet. Any advice on adjusting the above settings. The receiver does have airflow around it. Thank you.

Hi - thanks for reply. BH System Info shows HDD as 37C but it is the right rear of the box [the case] which is really hot to touch. Is there somewhere else I can see more temperature readings? Are you referring to HDD temps? I will try it with fan set to work in standby. I don't know how pwm setting controls fan rpm? Thank you again.
