Request Vu+ Ultimo Triple Tuner - Q's

Vu+ Newbie
Hi,

I am a newbie and considering the Vu+ Ultimo Triple S/S2 Tuners with an internal 1TB hard disk and would appreciate all your valuable technical help:-

- From a quad Universal LNB/motorised dish, configuring the triple S/S2 tuners, should you connect the 3 LNB feeds to each tuner or should you use the loop-back cable (supplied?) and will the loop-back cable affect the recording of multiple transponders/channels?

- Using the quad Universal LNB/motorised dish scenario, will you need to duplicate the same identical settings for tuner 1, to the remaing 2 identical (S/S2) tuners?

- When storing the satellites for a motorised system, should you start from end of the polar arc to other ensuring that the list reflects their respective position in the arc, or will the system automatically arrange them should you start storing from Hotbird?

- What are the steps to backup the factory installed image onto a USB stick from the above receiver and where can you find it's version number?

- Although this may be based on personal preferences, but which is the best, stable image-version to use (Black Hole, VIX, etc.) on this receiver, offering a raft of very usefull features/ease of use?

- Which usefull pluggins or apps (eg. VCC) can be recommended for this Vu+ Ultimo receiver?

- Is there any channel editing software for this receiver, which can be recommended from any 3rd party suppliers?

- Is there anything else missing, which needs to be considered when setting up this receiver?

Many thanks in advance, for all your support.

With kind regards.

Hi, The Ultimo is nice receiver with many options,
The receiver is updated thru the USB with stick, very easily.B/H Top image.
The tuners are best fed from seperate feeds, athough loop thru is option for those without seperate feeds.
Once your motorised system is correctly set on longitude and lattitude .[ consider other fixed dish for more options]
Channel lists like cateeyes setting contain sats and channel bouquets settings.[ favourites sats etc.]transfer using Dreambox edit.
It is possible to view 2 channels on same screen with pic in pic.
The 3rd tuner an be viewed thru plugins like Open Webif over the web [ recommended] once set up .[ easier with your own domain name]
Other plug ins can be directly downloaded thru remote control handset from B/H server.
Instructions for use and some excellent reading up can be found on forum,[ need to read up first]
Customising how you wish your receiver to work for you, only you can decide, limited by your knowlege.
However we all start at the same place.

As not to confuse nsharma,
Any of your tuners can be accesed thru Open Webif and channel / sat / bouquet changing easily.[ watch your Ultimo anywere on PC /Laptop/ ]
Hope this helps
