Vu+ Zero impossible to flash

Conn Nargol

Vu+ Newbie
Hello,

I have a very strange problem as I cannot flash the VU+ Zero.

It seems that the flashing process goes smoothly and after a few minutes, the light blinks as normal.

But when I turn the Vu+ on, I only see the BlackHole Logo for a few second, then nothing... black screen.

If I try to install another image, the process also seems to work and on restart...BlackHole logo and black screen (Normally I should have seen the other image logo not the BH ???)

Is there a solution to completely reset the Vu+ ?

Thank you very much for your lights ;-)

Frank

Thanks very much Mick,

I tried with 4 different USB sticks, old and new ones.. and also tried different images with BH2 and BH3... nothing changes...

Always this BlackHole logo (the one with the black Background and the Blue bars up and down of the screen) followed by the totally black screen

So I suppose that I have to return the Box.... or can I try something else ??? Any idea ?

You can give a try to reflash the bootloader.
After power off your STB, disconnect all your USB devices ( tuners, hdd, usb pendrives ... )
Try to desconnect too ( if connected ), your network cable before flashing it.

The bootloader flashing is a very quick procedure.

Retry the flash procedure, of the image you intend to use.

How are you connected, to your television, by HDMI cable?
When loaded the image should take you to a GUI, Generated User Interface, screen, to allow you to set certain options, video options, display options, network options, etc..
Have you ever reached these options?

Thank you very much for all your help, you are great, guys !

The problem was solved this morning and is very uncommon.

First, I did try all of your advices without success (boot loader, openATV,...) so I was ready to send it back to the shop when I saw the HDMI advice by Mick.
So I tried with the AV cable and ... it worked... my HDMI cable was defective, so stupid....arrrghhhh ! But I still have an excuse as this HDMI cable was showing me the first logo before shutting down the signal.... ;-)

Anyway, thank you again ! Without all of your advice, I wouldn't have found the solution

:thanks:

Best regards
Frank
