Vu+ zero stops at splash screen

Patrick Stack

Vu+ Newbie
I've only just got my new vu+ zero box. It's picked up both satellites on my dual-LNB dish. I have run an automatic service scan which picked up 850+ channels.
However, I cannot get any channel to play - all that is visible is the splash screen and a "loading..." in the bottom right hand corner.
I have no idea what to do next.

How did you set it up?
Was an image loaded for you, or did you set it up yourself?
Have you pressed the Menu button and configured the tuner?

I was told it would work out of the box but discovered I had to set it up when I started it.
I pressed the menu button and configured the tuner, yes, and I ran an automatic service scan, but the splash screen is still there

Try accessing the channel list, if you have scanned some channels in, by pressing the up/down buttons, at the centre of the remote, and select one.
You can also go into the menu, Setup, Service Searching and do a manual scan.
You really need to read all the help guides, and figure out how to use your receiver, and select which image is most suited, to your needs.

Thanks Mick12334
I've managed to find some channels that are working - France 24 for example, but none of the BBC or ITV channels seem to have downloaded.
I will read up on the how to guides as you suggest. Thanks again for your help.

Try manually scanning then in, you can find all the necessary information on lyngsat:

You state that you have a dual LNB dish, is this a dish with two LNB's, one pointing at Astra 2, 28.2E, the second pointing at Astra 1, 19.2E?
You need to set up your Tuner to simple, Diseqc A/B, and select the satellites.

I downloaded the latest BH image and flashed the STB and it got past the splash screen. So the other image was faulty. I've reconfigured the tuner and am now doing a service scan.
