vuplus folders consists of...?

Can someone explain what a "vuplus" imagefolder consists of? All images (vuplus) folders includes, root_cfe_auto.bin, kernel_cfe_auto.bin & reboot.update.
But some images also includes: initrd_cfe_auto.bin. What kind of file is this?

Images with this file does'nt work in "Openmultiboot"?

Afaik, initrd_cfe_auto.bin contains the initial ramdisk for loading a temporary root file system into memory, which may be used as part of the Linux startup process.
Why not?
