What dual band (2.4Ghz - 5Ghz) USB dongle is the best choice for Vu+ Duo?

Hi guys,

I've just bought a 5Ghz WIFI modem/router to solve a problem I have with 2.4Ghz audio/video sender.

Obviously now my wifi dongle I used for Vu+ Duo won't work anymore.

What USB WIFI dual band dongle chipset can I buy to have a 100% compatibility with my Duo?

Don't use a wifi dongle, but buy a wireless bridge, much more versatile and powerful, and with no compatibility problems.

Nope, wrong assumption...
Price may be lower or comparable, efficiency and transmission power much better than a small wifi dongle (not to mention possible problems trying to correctly configure a dual band dongle through Enigma2)...
Can be used for up to 4 devices at the same time (TV, bluray player, mediaplayer, etc.)

Thanks a lot for the links.

Now I use a 2.4Ghz dongle and for my everyday use it's perfect: I use wifi for Vu+ only for FTP and to update channel list. That's why I prefer to but a dongle.

Is it that hard to configure and use a 5Ghz dongle on Vu+ Duo?

Generally speaking, a dual band device needs 2 completely separate wireless configuration settings (SSID, security, preshared key, WMM, etc.), one for the 2.4 GHz band and one for the 5 GHz band.

Therefore also the configuration interface shown on the screen should provide 2 separate sets of configuration options. Are those 2 sets available in Enigma 2? I don't know, I've never tested such situation.
