What hard drive to buy?

scousemicky

Vu+ Newbie
I've had a 250gb lappy ard drive in it since I got the vu+ duo2 a month or so ago (its been fine for everything). Now I want to put in a 3,4 or 5tb drive in it.

I've been looking at these 3

WD 3 TB 3.5-inch Internal SATA Surveillance Storage Hard Drive - Purple

Toshiba 5TB Canvio USB 3.0 3.5" Desktop Hard Drive (Black)

Seagate Expansion 5TB Desktop USB 3.0 Hard Drive

I'd take the drive out of the bottom 2.

My question is...Would I get a lot of benefit using the WD (with it being a dedicated surveillance drive) as we do a lot of timeshifting, pause/play, fast forward/rewind etc? We also do some streaming but not loads.

Or would I be better just going for a run of the mill cheap drive with loads of storage?

Would be nice to hear different opinions. Thanks
