I was wondering if someone had any idea or have tried this.
I am using the USB port at the back of my Vu+ Solo to attach a usb stick so that I can use that as a swap file.
I now want to use an external HD but I do not want a usb dangling from the front of the box and was thinking of using a USB hub attached to the back USB.
Will this work??
Sorry people, just came across another thread about this hub business...although the person just said that you can...but nothing else.
Anybody has any more information please??
i.e..does it need to be a powered hub or not?
Hi Dear Member chunkyman.
It is Recommended, to use "ONLY" USB HUB with External power source.
Better chose Branded.
Also I recommend a 7-ports HUB for USB stick/HDD/HDD Extra Power/DVB-T/DVB-T2/FAN/WIRELESS.
Welcome to Community.
I am using a Docking Station with external power connected to VU+ UNO
1) eSATA port via SATA cable
2) via an additional USB cable using a single USB port on the UNO
- 2x USB port (Hub)
- Card Reader for all commonly used memory cards: Tried SD and CF
Everything works. Can also power up/down to change drives, sticks, cards when needed.
You don't hear me complaining. I was pleasantly surprised.
