Wireless Dongle - Help

i am new to this. just installed and set up the VU+. I have looked at compatible dongles and i purchased this 050D:935B Belkin Components F6D4050 N150 Enhanced Wireless Network Adapter v2000 [Ralink RT3070

when i put it in usb slot and navigate to network connections its showing not connected.

Am i suppose to configure/install something? i got to the network wizard and selected yes to both DHCP and USE INTERFACE. but nothing shoes in the current settings?

am i missing something.

also on some channels the speech is out of sync? any ideas>

i have blackhole 7.2.1 version Feb 4 2012-vuplus_experimental installed

I assume you mistype and mean 1.72, If so put your usb dongle in and reboot your box then navigate to menu > setup > system > wireless lan from here you should be able to configure.
 
Hi, yes i am sorry did make a mis spell. when i put dongle in it and i then reboot and then go to menu > setup > system > wireless lan does not show

more info - the dongle does light up so definatly power going through it. i also installed the dongle on my laptop to ensure it works and works fine.

latest new is that i have downloaded updates for VU+ via network wired and i downloaded the wlan setup file. rebooted with and without the dongle and still not showing any wireless options.

Dear friend when I've writed aboud source code I mean "driver soure code".
BH imagess doesen't supprot online updates.
 
Connect the box to internet with a cable...then download the wireless-tools plugins...then it should work...

i downloaded the Wireless-tools from the downloads but still nothing showing. i have decided to get someone in to move the socket from upstairs to downstairs, so its near the reciever.
it said that it was successfully installed but not sure what i was suppose to do after that.
 
If you are lucky; after reboot your wlan adaptor will be displayed in system/network conf...

In my case i had to remove some firmwares and modules using opkg using command line ...now my wifi works flawless...

I have been lucky and found the old tp-link usb wifi USB key is showing up when i turn the box of then on. however how do i configure from thspoint on> any help wud be great.with this been a few years old i might have to buy a newer usb but thought id give this a try first...
