Vu+ User
I have this info on my Vu+ Uno:

Ram in use: 97%
Swap in use: 0%
Flash in use: 96%
Cf in use: 0%
Usb in use: 0%
Hdd in use: 6%
HDD temp: 29C

Would appreciate to know what these readings should be and what to do to correct them. Thanks

The RAM in use is too high I think. But it depends on the image, plugins, epg data... you installed on your box!

how to put picon on usb?
my hard disk is mounted as /media/hdd
but it is usb external HDD
thanks

When U mount the device ,,,,in front of the external HDD Device name .......choose mount = ...../media/USB or 2 (Back side of STB),,,etc!
It should work,,,try and tell us the results!

have U added swap file?
If not do that, 128 m , will be fine!
And I would recommend to put all of your picon and epg data @ the USB!
I have an internal 1TB HDD and have just mounted an external 16G USB too. Created a swap file, 128m as advised by you, and have these results now.

Ram in use: 36%
Swap in use: 0%
Flash in use: 96%
Cf in use: 0%
Usb in use: 1%
Hdd in use: 6%
HDD temp: 32C

Don't know how to do your recommodation :
"And I would recommend to put all of your picon and epg data @ the USB! "

Would appreciate more info on this. Thanks for your help.

Juste create a "picon" folder on the root of your usb and put all your picons in it and check that you don't have other picon folder in your hdd.
For me, this worked fine!

You can do it from windows explorer or filezilla.

Ps: HDD and USB are in the "/mnt" folder.

Thanks for all your help. Have created "picon" folder in USB root.
Before continuing wish to confirm this. Are all the picons in usr/share/enigma2/piconlcd? Shall I transfer this folder to the 'picon' file. Also in HDD there is a folder usr/lib/opkg. Shall I transfer this too to the 'picon' folder in the USB.

1- you must have a picon on your hdd wich contains the picon files : /media/hdd/picon
2- remove your picon directory in flash memory: /usr/share/enigma2.
3- make a symbolic link "picon" in your /usr/share/enigma2 to your /media/hdd/picon by telnet: ln -s /media/hdd/picon /usr/share/enigma2/picon

That's all.

Dear Friend.
Usb Stick/Pen must be mounted as \media\usb only ! Use BH Mount Wizard.
Use Green-Yellow on remote and select download Plugins Picons.
Select Picons that only specified as USB.
Download/Install.
Next time you Flash new image picons will remain is your USB pen/stick, no need to download again.
To setup EPG Blue-Red-Red select EPG data location /media/usb.

Regards.

As regards setup EPG, after Blue-Red-Red and saved location /media/usb, what should I do after. Thanks for all your help.

Lately I was having 98% Ram in use. When I delete the swap file it will go down to 61%. Any reason why this is happening. The only adjustment that I did lately was added some Picon packages to USB.

The amount of free ram is no issue.
This can change from moment to moment.
It depends on cached data and processes running.
If Receiver responds fast and you have no issues then let it be 99%.. :D
