Hi, I did a software update today, and got the green error screen. I posted the log to the contactmail address (shaderman@dreambox-tools.info) in the log. I got a swift reply with the following:-

Merlin EPG Center crashes? That's awesome, because according to my license as creator of the plugin, you're not permitted to use it on any other Hardware than original Dreambox devices, or hardware licensed by DMM which your VU isn't.

What is the situation with this? I installed the plugin using the online screen.

I don't know what are you doing but it's clear that the author of plugin you are using (the image IS NOT RESPONSABLE FOR THAT!) don't allow the usage/running of these plugins outside Dreambox hardware.
The easiest solution is to take a look for other plugins that do the same job.
 
Hi thanks for the reply although it doesn't answer my question. Oh and I didn't mean that the image was responsible. Maybe I have the wrong forum. What I did was install a plugin using the Black Hole online plugin install screen. This is a plugin offered by Black Hole itself, so I don't understand the response from the creator, or isn't Black Hole officially allowed to offer this plugin?

Do you know from which forum I might get an answer to this? Thanks.

The plugin taken from the feed inside BH images is generated by an online repository of plugins.
Not all works regularly or needs update between image versions BUT the author usually update their plugins when needs.
In this situation, the plugin you are using is partially compatible with BH images and without the crashlog it's impossible to determine the real problem.

You've discovered that the plugin author develop only on other brand boxes. BH develop only on Vu+ boxes.
 
The author has already protect his plugin
and you have not managed to install it
In this case I do not see any problem.

We do not intend to contact the author, because we make images
and not testing all plugins on the net.

In any case it is impossible to test all plugins
and changes in them.
We do not have time for that.

You can ask the author to extend its license
if he want.

The plugin (Merlin EPG Center) has installed on my Vu+. I use it. I just checked it again now, and it's working, so the Black Hole plugin installer has installed it ok.
 
I really do not know I've never used and tested.

But in principle we do not intend to test all plugins and verify
plugins.
Also we do not intend to play the police to check whether someone on the net
erased protection etc
It is the responsibility of individuals , and we do not know the situation with all these plugins
on The Net.
If the author has some objections can write to some of our team.
